Very nice, hot day ahead... rain on the way

Could we break the Jacksonville record high today?

Next rain chances (maxuser)

Jacksonville, FL – Officially, Jacksonville missed the record high on Friday by two degrees, today... we’ll be close again! The record high for this date was 92 in 1995, and we’re expecting highs in the upper 80s, and perhaps tipping into the 90s. One more day of these high, hot temperatures before a cool down starts off our week.

Later this evening, there’s a 20% chance of rain with the possibility of thunder after 8 p.m. and into the overnight hours. Cloudy conditions will stick around into Sunday morning, can’t rule out a lingering shower here and there.

Sunday will be hot and windy as the front passes south and east. Once out of our area Monday morning, we’ll only see highs in the low 70s. Relief for now, is on the way!

Hazards: UV index is very high and there’s a moderate rip current risk along the coast.

Looking ahead: cooler start to our week under clear skies. Warm up by mid-week.
