DCPS selling discounted computers to parents, employees

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Parents of Duval County public school students and DCPS employees will have a chance to buy used computers at deeply discounted prices, beginning next week, the district announced.

A partnership with Urban Mining Tech Rescue has allowed a variety of computers ranging from Lenovo Laptops and Desktops, to iMacs and MacBook Pros to be available for purchase, ranging in price from $50 to $300.

In order for parents to access the online sales, they must have a OneView account -- otherwise, they cannot make a purchase.

Sales will be based on what equipment is available, and with a limit of one computer per registered student or employee, per year, the district said.
