Resource fair offers crucial mental support, resources for veterans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida and South Georgia Veterans Health System will host a resource and suicide prevention fair on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The event is free and includes a catered lunch for attendees.

The fair will include the following resources for veterans:

• Women Veterans Program
• Veterans Benefits Enrollment and Claims Assistance
• Mental Health/Suicide Prevention
• Homeless Veteran Program
• Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program (IPVAP)
• Veteran Whole Health
• Social Worker and Care Management
• Toxic Exposure Screening
• Lung Cancer Screening
• VA Education Information
• Health and Nutrition Information

Veteran Kevin Briggs, a renowned speaker and author, and Kevin Berthia, a suicide survivor and advocate, will be guest speakers.
