Ikea to only sell only LED lights Ikea wants to switch over to just selling LED lighting by Spetember
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Ikea plans to start only selling LED lights. Consumerist reports, the Swedish company is making the change September 1.
The move is an effort to promote being environmentally friendly. Ikea states it also wants to help customers to also be more eco-friendly.
Ikea has been planning to make the switch to just selling LED lights since 2012. In a study, Ikea found more Americans are taking steps to become environmentally cautious with 64-percent opting to buy energy saving lighting in 2015. Three years early, the number of Americans buying energy saving lighting was 49-percent.
Ikea is working to produce renewable energy. In return the company wants to consume less energy than it produces.
