DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard Southeast (USCG) said Sunday crews suspended the search for a “possible” person in the water near the Mayport Ferry Landing on the St. Johns River.
USCG said it called off the search because it did not receive any missing person reports, and no personal belongings were found in the 8-foot inflatable raft.
According to the Coast Guard, crews began the search on Saturday morning after the unmanned inflatable raft was found in the water.
The USCG and partner agency crews searched approximately 36 square miles for more than 17 hours.
Anyone with information is asked to call the USCG at 833-453-1268.
