CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. – There's a new warning out of Camden County, Georgia, about an age-old scam.

The Camden County Sheriff's Office said Monday that thieves posing as Internal Revenue Service agents are calling people and threatening jail time if they don't pay up.

The caller also claims that you'll be arrested for unpaid taxes, regardless of whether you've paid or not, authorities said.

If you get the call, ignore it and hang up the phone immediately.

The IRS does not conduct business in this manner, deputies said.
