Yulee High School cancels football pep rally over gun threat

YULEE, Fla. – Yulee High School has canceled Friday afternoon’s pep rally ahead of the football game, in the wake of a comment made by a student about a gun.
The Nassau County Sheriff's Office said the student joked about bringing a gun to the pep rally. He was questioned and released.
There was no gun at the school, contrary to what was being said on social media Friday, authorities said.
The student could face discipline over his poor choice of remarks, authorities said.
Yulee plays Ribault at home at 7 p.m. Friday.
