Answering tax questions after DOGE cuts 6,000 IRS jobs

We are right in the middle of a busy tax season. Maybe you’re preparing a return or counting on a refund you really need.

Then you hear Elon Musk’s deputies at DOGE cut 6,000 IRS jobs. You start wondering, how long will it take to process that return? Will my refund be delayed because I need that money?

Sue Long with the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University founded a group that tracks IRS audits and has testified before Congress about restructuring the IRS.

She joined us on The Morning Show and said the cuts will impact customer service and tax return processing.
