Prosecutors said such a rocket motor was the igniter for the pipe bomb, which was covered in BBs and surrounded by gasoline-filled condoms.

According to prosecutors, the Nassau County man assembled a bomb, disguised it as a Christmas gift, and sent it to Lillian Jarvis. The package exploded as she opened it, killing her and injuring her mother and boyfriend on Jan. 6, 2001.
