2 Other Teens Who Pleaded Guilty To Be Sentenced Next Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 16-year-old convicted of murdering a pizza delivery driver in December was sentenced to life in prison Thursday.

Jonathan Hartley was one of three teens who pleaded guilty to killing 57-year-old Sarah Hotham. Hotham was delivering pizza at an apartment complex on Comanche Street when she was shot.

The state attorney's office had recommended a 50-year sentence for Hartley, but Judge Charles Arnold said he wanted to make an example regarding all the teenage crime in Jacksonville and handed down a life sentence.

Hartley claimed the shooting was an accident after Hotham refused to give him any money. He broke down crying when the sentence was announced.

Gregory Byrd Jr., 18, and Keon Sams, 17, the two other teens who pleaded guilty in the murder, will be sentenced next week.
