Police: Man kidnapped while traffic stalled

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While traffic was stopped on Butler Boulevard on Thursday afternoon as police were involved in a standoff with a bank robbery suspect, investigators said a man kidnapped another man from a car on the highway over a pill transaction gone bad.

Police were called to the 13600 block of Butler, where they said Daniel McAllister, 39, took Joseph Langman, 37, out of a car driven by Robert Brown, 40, and forced him into a car driven by Johnny Parham, 41.

Police said a window in Brown's car was broken during the kidnapping.

McAllister and Parham, both of Orange Park, were arrested. McAllister was charged with kidnapping, possession of illegal prescription drugs and criminal mischief. Parham was charged with kidnapping.

Langman was arrested on an outstanding prescription fraud charges. Thursday was Langman's birthday.
