Troopers said the Corvette continued to spin, striking the front of a tractor trailer, which then crashed into the guard rail. The Corvette continue to rotate in the median, hitting the guard rail twice more before coming to a stop.
At some point, Solomon was ejected from the Corvette. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bouloute was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the big rig, Ronald Harp, 43, of Tifton, Ga., was not injured.
All southbound lanes of I-295 in the area were closed for about three hours while the scene was cleared and the SUV was pulled out of the woods.
According to the FHP report, a blood test on Solomon will determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
