JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in two Jacksonville murders on consecutive days in November, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives identified Curtis Asberry as the suspect in both cases and arrested him on Nov. 17 on unrelated charges.
On Friday, he was charged with Solomon’s and Felton’s murders, JSO said.
JSO said Felton’s death was one of the cases that fueled false rumors of a serial killer in Jacksonville. The sheriff’s office said her case is not related to the other two women’s killings.
One of those cases resulted in a murder arrest and the other is still under investigation.
