Couple pleads guilty to accidentally shooting baby

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man and a woman who were arrested after they got into an argument, fought over a gun and accidentally shot their 7-month-old baby have each pleaded guilty to child neglect.

Justin Satterfield and Brandy Purvis were arguing at a Westside motel in December 2010 and were struggling over an AK-47 when it discharged, wounding the child in the leg.

Satterfield pleaded guilty last week to child neglect, possession of a firearm and ammo by a convicted felon, and drug possession. He will be sentenced in October.

Purvis pleaded guilty earlier this year to child neglect. She's scheduled for sentencing next month.
