Chick-fil-A at University of North Florida draws mixed reviews
Student gov't approves decision by 30-7 vote
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida student body may feel torn over its school's decision to bring one fast-food chain to its campus.
Student government voted 30-7 Monday night in favor of replacing a Sbarro pizzeria with Chick-fil-A.
Before voting, members of student government listened to opposition from students, including members of the university's LGBT community.
They believe the restaurant's stance on homosexuality should be enough to deny it from coming to campus.
Over the summer, Chick-fil-A received national attention when its company head said publicly he was against gay marriage.
