JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest of the year when it comes to celebrations, festivals and observances.

2014 Jacksonville Memorial Day Observance
8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
Where: Veterans Memorial Wall, 1145 East Adams St., Jacksonville, 32202
What: The community will honor Jacksonville's fallen heroes in a ceremony to add four names to the Veterans Memorial Wall. The ceremony includes music by the Navy Band Southeast and Edward Waters Chorus and remarks by Mayor Alvin Brown, Rep. Ander Crenshaw, Rep. Corrine Brown and Admiral Jonathan Howe, U.S. Navy (ret.).

Memorial Day Breakfast
9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Where: Memorial Park, 1515 Riverside Ave., Jacksonville, 32204
What: The Memorial Park Association is hosting a free community breakfast in the park with an appearance by the Navy's Color Guard and followed by a game of Ultimate Frisbee.

26th Annual Blue Crab Festival
10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Downtown Palatka, 100 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, 32177
What: Festival includes carnival rides, live music, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, and commercial display vendors along downtown Palatka's riverfront.

Camp Blanding Memorial Day Ceremony
10 a.m.
Where: Camp Blanding Museum & Memorial Gardens, 5629 State Road 16 West, Starke, 32091
What: Annual ceremony will honor those who died while serving with guest speaker Col. (ret.) James Lamar Crawford, a Korean War and Vietnam veteran.

Memorial Day at St. Augustine National Cemetery
10 a.m.-11 a.m.
Where: St. Augustine National Cemetery, 104 Marine Street, 32084, behind the National Guard Headquarters
What: A massing of colors, field music by pipes and drums, remarks at the cemetery and a ceremony at the relocated World War II monument in the plaza by the Pilot Club of St. Augustine. Cub Scout Pack 23 from St. Francis in the Field will set out flags at grave sites prior to the ceremony.

Flashback Family Festival
11 am.-7 p.m.

What: Bring lawn chairs, tables and grills for a picnic in the park.

"D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944"
12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 pm.
Where: World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater, One World Golf Place, St. Augustine, 32092
What: The 40-minute documentary, narrated by Tom Brokaw, provides a new perspective on the monumental World War II landing in Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944.

Memorial Day Celebration of Remembrance

What: Food, fun and refreshments to celebrate loved ones and those who served our country.

Beaches Memorial Day Program
2 p.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Beaches Veterans Memorial Park, Mayport Road & Atlantic Boulevard, Atlantic Beach, 32233
What: Veterans will salute fallen comrades and honor more than 340 chaplains who have given their lives in combat operations.

What: Maj. Gen. James D. Tyre, Florida Army National Guard, will be the guest speaker.

Jacksonville Suns Military Appreciation Day
4:05 p.m.
Where: Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, 301 A. Philip Randolph Blvd., Jacksonville, 32202
What: The Jacksonville Suns will honor the military by giving all military families free admission to the their game against the Montgomery Biscuits.
