ST. MARYS, Ga. – Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire to an abandoned bowling alley early Tuesday morning in St. Marys. They said the fire appears to be suspicious in nature.
Around midnight, firefighters were called to an abandoned building, formerly known as TNT Lanes bowling alley, located at 2210 Highway 40, in reference to a fire.

When fire crews arrived, flames were coming from the building.
Several fire crews assisted with battling the fire, including the St. Marys Fire Department and the Camden County Fire Rescue.
Investigators said the fire is suspicious in nature, and they are working to figure out what may have caused the building to go up in flames.
No injuries were reported.
Fire crews closed all westbound lanes of Highway 40 between North Julia Street and Martha Drive for several hours during the investigation and cleanup. The roadway reopened about 6:30 a.m.
