JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A veteran Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer was arrested in St. Johns County and charged with a DUI on Friday, marking the first employee arrest of the year.
JSO announced the arrest of Raymond Goethe on Sunday. The sheriff’s office said Goethe was off-duty and driving his own vehicle on U.S. Highway 1 when a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled him over.

Goethe was charged with driving under the influence after the deputy conducted a roadside interview.
Goethe has had a 28-year career with JSO and was assigned to the patrol division. After the arrest, he was administratively reassigned from his duties.
