Inmate, 29, dies at Duval County jail
Police: No foul play suspected
Jacksonville police are investigating a death at the Duval County jail.JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 29-year-old inmate died in Jacksonville Sheriff's Office custody early Wednesday morning.
Police said Thoumara Torres was found unresponsive in her cell at the Duval County jail around noon Tuesday.
They said corrections and rescuers performed CPR, and Torres was taken to a hospital. She died early Wednesday morning.
Torres was incarcerated Dec. 21 for battery.
Police said no foul play is suspected and the death is being investigated as a suicide. Police said their investigation is ongoing.
