JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man accused of firing shots into a house that wounded a 3-year-old girl has been sentenced to 95 years in federal prison, state attorneys said.

Joseph Chambers, 30, was sentenced Thursday afternoon to 20 years in prison on each of the four counts of second-degree attempted murder on which he was convicted in May.

State attorneys said Chambers also received 15 years for one count of shooting or throwing deadly missiles.

The victims were inside a Bishop Lane home in December 2012 when a dozen shots were fired into the home.

One of the shots struck the now-6-year-old girl in the foot as she sat on the living room couch, state attorneys said.

The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Chambers and one of the victims.

The sentences will run consecutively, state attorneys said.
