Police: Body found under Dames Point Bridge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating after a body was found in the St. Johns River under the Dames Point Bridge Wednesday evening.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said local fishermen spotted the body and called police around 8 p.m.

Homicide detectives are investigating how long the body was in the river and why it was there.

The gender and identity of the body is unknown, but it's being investigated.
