Police investigating murder in Durkeeville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating a murder in the Durkeeville of northwest Jacksonville early Tuesday morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says officers found a man shot to death on West 6th Street, just south of JP Small Park, around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the victim, who appears to be in his early to mid-20s, was shot multiple times. As of Tuesday morning, police say they do not have any witnesses.

"We don't know who the victim is at this time. We're still trying to determine that. It's very early in the investigation. Once we are able to speak to all the people in the area hopefully we will be able to identify our victim," said Sgt. Jay Farhat.
