Green Cove Springs man dies in accident Accident kills one man, injures another No description found
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol said a Green Cove Springs man was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on State Route 21 just north of Precinct Drive in Clay County.
Troopers said 63-year-old Bruce Elliott died after 21-year-old Joshua Barron's Toyota Corolla at crossed the center line and struck Elliot's Saturn head-on about 12:40 a.m.
The Saturn then rolled over onto the shoulder of the road, according to the FHP report.
Clay County Fire and Rescue pronounced Elliott dead at the scene and transported Barron to Orange Park Medical Center with serious injuries.
Troopers said Elliott was not wearing a seat belt.
They said the FHP is investigating whether alcohol was involved.
Barron lives in Jacksonville. The FHP report said charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
