We went to Osaka Grill Sushi Buffet on San Jose Boulevard while they were setting up lunch. The lights were off but one employee was at the buffet.
I told the worker that I do a restaurant each week and I saw they had a closure. She was quick to say she couldn't talk and refused to call a manager to answer any questions.
I continued to ask if she was there when the inspector came. She said no. I asked if they exterminated and she said she didn't know. Then she refused to call a manager so we could get some answers.
The failing inspection was prompted by a complaint. One February 16th the inspector found a half dozen roaches under the beer reach in cooler, more behind another cooler, and the most, 25 live roaches, were near a cooler on the cook line.
The next day the inspector came back that morning and still found a few roaches in the same area. This meant they had to remain closed until all the roaches were gone. Workers got more time to get rid of the bugs and just after noon Osaka was allowed to open back up with zero violations period.
Another restaurant that only delivers food had to be shut down because it was operating without a license. Ready Fresh Foods operates in Jacksonville Beach and is still not accepting orders according to its website as of this writing. They were closed last week after the inspector came in and found they were selling and delivering food without a state license. The company is prompting customers to email them for more information.
