KINGSLAND, Ga. – Police in Kingsland made three separate drug seizures and made three arrests and seized illegal drugs with a potential street value of $400,000 in recent days.
According to Kingsland Police Chief Darryl Griffis, the first arrest took place on Thursday when an officer stopped a vehicle for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. After approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search found a small bag filled with a crystal like substance that tested positive for meth.

Brian Plummer, 26, of St. Marys, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug-related objects.
Griffiis said the next day, a KPD officer stopped a vehicle speeding north on Interstate 95. After approaching the driver, the officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced five kilos of a powder like substance that tested positive for cocaine. Several small bags of marijuana were also found in the vehicle.
The driver, Rafael Burgos, 30, of Kissimmee, Fla., and passenger Manuel Alejandros-Telleira, 38, of also Kissimmee, were charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
On Saturday, a KPD officer stopped a vehicle for a broken windshield. Police said the driver, Theresa Small, 32, of Kingsland, appeared to be extremely nervous and became verbally abusive towards the officer.
Small denied permission to search the vehicle and its contents, so the officer requested a K-9 officer to come to the scene. The dog positively alerted to the vehicle, and a search was carried out. Officers said they found a bag which contained a clear granular substance that tested positive for meth, several syringes, a small digital scale, and a.22 caliber handgun.
Small was charged possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug-related objects and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
All four suspects were jailed in the Camden County Correctional Facility awaiting a bond hearing.
"I am extremely proud of the efforts made by my officers this past weekend" Griffis said. "Every drug we seize, no matter how large or small an amount keeps it out of our community." "We will continue to fight this war against drugs with the funds and resources made available to us."
