Police increase reward for tips in Fernandina Beach death

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – A reward for information into the shooting death of a Fernandina Beach man has been increased to $5,000.

Johnell Richo was shot and killed outside his home in Fernandina Beach at the beginning of May.

The Fernandina Beach Police Department said in addition to a $3,000 reward CrimeStoppers is offering for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction, the police department has now offered an additional $2,000 reward in the case.

Officers went door to door Tuesday in the area passing out fliers trying to get any information they can about the case.

The police department said that Richo’s stepson was arrested Tuesday, but would not give any more details about any possible connection to Richo’s death.
