Vigil held for Tyler Hendrix

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night across from a mobile home park on West Beaver Street, authorities said.

The victim was identified Wednesday as Cameron "Tyler" Hendrix.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called about 7:20 p.m. after residents of the Paradise Village Mobile Home Park heard gunshots. Residents then found Hendrix, who had been shot several times, in the wooded area across the street, Sgt. Michael Paul said. 

Jacksonville Fire Rescue was called, but Hendrix was already dead, police said.

Wednesday evening, friends and family gathered at a vigil to remember him.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
