LAKE CITY, Fla. – Justice was served Wednesday in a January rape case.
On Jan. 5, five people broke into a woman's home and held her at gunpoint. One of the suspects was Christian Antwann Woody. He allegedly held the victim at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her while the others went through her apartment and stole some of her belongings.

Thanks to a news release from the Lake City Police Department and the responding public, all five suspects were identified and in custody by the end of January, police said.
During the investigation, police determined Woody was one of the primary aggressors in the case and one of the suspects directly involved in the sexual battery of the victim, said police.
Woody was charged with sexual battery with a firearm as well as robbery with a firearm. On Wednesday, he was found guilty on all counts by a Columbia County jury. Sentencing has been set for October.
"I am pleased to see that justice has been served in this case," said Lake City police Chief Argatha Gilmore. "This is obviously a sensitive case. While there is still more legal process ahead, we hope that this brings at least some closure to the victim and pray for her continued recovery."
In addition to Wednesday’s conviction, Woody is currently in various stages of the legal process in at least 15 other unrelated charges from LCPD, including multiple burglaries and criminal mischief charges, according to the news release.
