JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 25-year-old Jacksonville man has been charged with capital sexual battery after police said he sexually molested a girl under the age of 12.

According to the arrest report, the girl, whose specific age was redacted from the report, told her mother in January that Joshua Ellington had molested her.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Child Protection Team was called in to investigate and the girl described a history of sexual abuse by Ellington, beginning in August and ending in January.

According to police, Ellington agreed to a polygraph that showed he was lying when he was questioned about the sexual abuse. He was arrested Friday after being interviewed by detectives.

Police said that after his arrest, Ellington “made statements that if he went to jail he would be carried out in a body bag.”

Ellington's relationship to the girl is not included in the arrest report.
