Police ID man fatally shot near Edward Waters College

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man fatally shot about 11 p.m. April 28 on Dot Street in the New Town neighborhood has been identified.

Police said Christopher Williams, 20, died the next morning at UF Health Jacksonville.

Police tape surrounded the playground of a park at the intersection of Dot and Pierce streets, three blocks from Edward Waters College. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide investigators were looking for witnesses and evidence.
