JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on and off the field, recognizing two local student-athletes ahead of Sunday’s home game.
Lorena Clutter, a wide receiver and linebacker at The Bolles School, and Enrique Ordoñez, a running back at Nease High School, were named nominees for the Jaguars’ 2026 NFL Latino Youth Honors.
The two were recognized just before kickoff for their contributions in athletics, leadership, academics and service.
Students reflect on the recognition
For Ordoñez, the honor carried deep personal meaning.
“It was awesome being a Latino kid — a lot of people didn’t expect me to play football, and it’s usually soccer, track, or cross country,” Ordoñez said. “Just being able to be a Latino and represent my Mexican heritage on the football field — it’s just an amazing experience.”
Clutter said she was surprised and moved when she learned about her nomination.
“It feels great. I am truly honored to be here today,” Clutter said. “When I first found out, I was shocked that I was submitted for the nomination. I was just like, oh my goodness, this is such a surreal experience — to represent the Latin community and Saint Johns and just be an inspiration to the young community. It just means a lot to me.”
Jaguars Foundation hosts essay contest awards luncheon
The Jaguars’ Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations continue with an upcoming event in partnership with Duval County Public Schools.

The Jaguars Foundation and Duval County Public Schools will host elementary, middle and high school winners of the annual Hispanic Heritage Month essay competition at an awards luncheon. The contest was open to all Duval County 4th–12th grade students, who were encouraged to write about a living person of Hispanic or Latino heritage from the Jacksonville community who has made a significant contribution.
