FHP: St. Augustine man, 67, dies in crash on SR 16

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 67-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in St. Augustine, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers identified the victim as Kevin Holton, of St. Augustine. 

The wreck was reported about 4:20 p.m. on State Road 16 and Sutton Road. 

According to the Highway Patrol, Holton was driving a Pontiac Solstice in the left-turn lane of Sutton Road and began to cross the westbound lanes of S.R. 16, but did not see a Saturn Vue approaching. 

The driver of the Saturn veered left and braked, but struck the left side of the Pontiac, FHP said.

Troopers said Holton died, and the 29-year-old Palatka woman driving the Saturn was not injured.
