JSO: Man killed after argument at New Year's Eve party

Police still investigating, but not actively searching for gunman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Just over an hour into the New Year, a 35-year-old man was found shot to death in the driveway of a home on Gilmore Heights Road off of Fort Caroline Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said Crispin Taylor was shot once after an argument broke out a New Year's Eve party with about 15 people.

Police questioned the people at the home at the time determine what exactly happened. Announcing Taylor's identity on Tuesday, police said the case was still under investigation, but they were not actively searching for the shooter.

According to the JSO crime mapping tool, within the past month there have been three assaults, four burglaries, four acts of vandalism, three vehicle break-ins and one theft within a one mile radius of Monday morning's shooting.
