1 person in custody after break-in at Orange Park vape shop

Owner of shop said nothing was taken, window broken out with golf club

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Clay County deputies are thanking the community for helping them capture a suspect wanted in a possible robbery attempt of a vape shop near Blanding Boulevard Saturday night in Orange Park.

Justin Markele Thomas, 18, was charged with burglary to a structure, grand theft, vandalism and resisting officer without violence.

The owner of the Vape & Smoke shop on Blanding Boulevard near Aurora Boulevard said he believed the suspect in the break-in could have a mental problem.

The owner said the suspect, later identified as Thomas, broke the glass of the shop with a golf club but nothing was stolen.

There was no loss to the merchant and no one was hurt.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office sent out a tweet to thank the community for helping land the suspect behind bars.
