Witnesses are cooperating and told police that the man was arguing with someone in a parking lot before the shooting. Now all that's left behind are police markings and blood stains on the parking lot pavement.

The shooting happened just across the street from a community center.

Although police have not identified the victim, a woman near the scene Sunday said she is related to the man. She said he was Derrick Hartley. She said he was a real estate agent and loving father who leaves behind five children.

Not far from where the shooting happened, a Crime Stoppers sign was put up urging anyone with information about who pulled the trigger to come forward.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit detectives and Crime Scene Unit detectives are investigating. If you know anything about the deadly shooting, you are asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS (8477).

This is the 39th homicide in Jacksonville so far in 2019.
