Police: Man found dead in Northwest Jacksonville roadway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found dead Friday morning in the 45th & Moncrief area of Northwest Jacksonville, police said.

Sgt. Doug Molina said police were called about 6 a.m. Friday to Doeboy Street, which is west of the I-95 and Norwood Avenue interchange, after a man was found unresponsive in the roadway.

Police did not disclose the man's injuries but said he died at the scene and foul play is suspected.

Molina said gunshots were heard in the area around midnight but it's unclear if those were connected to the man's death.
