Fire erupts at home in Arlington early Saturday morning
Jacksonville firefighters put out flames at home on Tanglewood Lane
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville firefighters put out a house fire early Saturday morning in Arlington.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. at a home on Tanglewood Lane.
Video and photos from the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department show crews rushing to put out the flames.
Part of the house above the door frame appears to have major damage.
No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported. The home had been sold a few months earlier and the owner had a new roof put on prior to the fire.
"Thank goodness someone saw it and was able to call and get help," neighbor Natalie Wright said. "This house was pretty much up in flames. We could see open flames coming out of the windows. The firefighters were all over in the house."
Wright lives down the street from the house that caught fire and said the street was flooded with firefighters Saturday morning battling the fire that charred the inside of the home.
"I've never seen anything like that; seeing a house on fire especially in my neighborhood was pretty scary. I saw smoke coming out of the house," Wright said. "I actually didn't smell smoke, which I was surprised (about). I saw smoke and firefighters with flashlights moving through the house and firefighters spraying the open flames."
The cause of the fire has not been released but neighbors are thankful it was vacant.
