Investigators don't know what may have prompted the shooting.

A portion of Kings Road and Barnett Street was blocked off for the investigation.

Police also put up crime tape around the Sunoco gas station in the area as well as a Dollar Store down the street but said the two scenes are not connected.

One man who asked not to be identified said he saw the shooting victim fighting for his life.

"I just prayed for the family most of all," the man said. "It's sad this had to happen. It's life, but you don't get used to that."

Police said there's no information linking this incident with other shootings that saw three people be shot on 5th Street in a span of less than 15 hours roughly a week ago.
