DeSantis orders flags lowered to honor Stevens

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and local buildings throughout Florida to honor retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, who died this week in Fort Lauderdale.

Stevens, 99, served on the Supreme Court from 1975 to 2010. He died after suffering a stroke.

He will lie in repose Monday at the Supreme Court before a private funeral service and internment Tuesday at Arlington National Cemetery.

DeSantis ordered U.S. and Florida flags to be flown at half-staff until sunset Tuesday.
