Man dies in van fire outside Daytona Beach Police Department
Burned out vehicle sits outside Daytona Beach Police Headquarters after a body was found inside (WKMG)
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A van burst into flames outside the Daytona Beach Police headquarters early Wednesday, killing a man, officials said.
News outlets reported the van pulled into the parking lot of the police department’s main office around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Police officers inside the building heard a loud noise and then saw that the van was on fire, WKMG in Orlando reported.
A man was on fire when he got out of the van and collapsed in the parking lot, officials told the television station. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Fire crews put out the fire and investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
No additional details were immediately available.
