JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One employee was shot and another was robbed late Monday night at a Taco Bell on the Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The employee who was shot was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.
According to police, a man entered the restaurant on 103rd street, west of Interstate 295, just before 11:30 p.m. to rob the business. During that holdup, the employee was shot then another employee was individually robbed.
Police said a backpack was taken from the second employee but officers were not sure if any cash had been stolen from the restaurant.
The Taco Bell is believed to have surveillance cameras and images from Florida Department of Transportation cameras posted throughout 103rd street could help police identify the criminal.
Police said customers were inside at the time but were not sure how many. No customers were injured.
