Suspect in Mandarin double stabbing found dead after crash, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A person suspected in a double stabbing an elderly man and woman late Monday afternoon in Mandarin was found dead at the scene of a crash crash, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they responded around 5:15 p.m. to Wordsworth Court, where two people were stabbed. Both were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Shortly after, the suspect was found dead in a vehicle that crashed into a large tree on Mandarin Road -- about a minute away from where the double stabbing happened.

Police said the suspect was related to the couple and there are no outstanding suspects.
