Fire sparked in kitchen burns through Jacksonville soul food restaurant

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The state fire marshal has been called to investigate the cause of a fire that mangled a soul food restaurant Wednesday in Jacksonville.
Photos from the scene show the kitchen at Gene’s Soul and Seafood was destroyed in the blaze. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said no one was inside at the time of the fire.
JFRD said two neighboring businesses were affected by smoke. No injuries were reported.
