No suspects after man shot and killed in Jacksonville

City’s 176th homicide of 2020 hours before midnight

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said they have no suspects identified or in custody after a man was shot and killed on Jacksonville’s Southside on New Year’s Eve.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at 9:17 p.m. when officers called to a shooting at the Club at Town Center apartment complex on St. Johns Bluff Road near the intersection of Alumni Way. They found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

JSO did not say if they had details on what led up to the shooting. Detectives interviewed several people were interviewed, but there were no suspects as of early Friday morning.
