JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver is in critical, but not life-threatening condition after a crash with a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
A spokesperson for JSO said an officer was attempting a traffic stop as he was traveling northbound on North Pearl Street before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
As the officer approached W 48th street, a vehicle made a left turn into the path of the officer, according to police. The impact caused both cars to collide with a chain-linked fence. The officer was not injured.
JSO did not say if the officer had his sirens or lights on at the time of the crash, but the crash report has been requested.
