Person dies after slamming into billboard on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person is dead after crashing into a large billboard sign early Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officers say the car was traveling north on Cassat Avenue at 2:10 a.m. when it went off the road and hit the sign at the intersection with Edgewood Avenue. The driver died at the scene.

Jacksonville Traffic Homicide is currently investigating the crash.
