Man shot and killed while driving through Brentwood neighborhood in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville are investigating a shooting with no witnesses and no suspects in a Brentwood neighborhood.

A spokesperson for Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said they arrived at a home on W. 26th and Silver Street after receiving notification of 6 shots fired via ShotSpotter detection.

When responders arrived, they found a vehicle had collided with a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home. The driver, a man in his 30-40s was found dead.

Police said he had one gunshot wound to the upper torso. Neighbors told police they didn’t see anything, according to JSO, but there may be surveillance cameras in the area.

The spokesperson said investigators aren’t sure if someone shot the man as they were passing in another vehicle or if the shooter was on foot.
