Pedestrian killed in Putnam County hit-and-run, troopers say

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said it happened about 3 a.m. on Paradise Lakes Avenue near Palm Way.

Troopers said a vehicle traveling south on Paradise Lakes Avenue fatally struck a pedestrian in the southbound travel lane. Troopers described the pedestrian as a 24-year-old Crescent City man.

Troopers said the vehicle took off after the crash.
