Traffic homicide Lt. Nassim Mana said speed was a factor in the crash but no charges were filed yet.

All lanes of New Kings Road at Edgewood Avenue were closed most of the night as police investigated the crash.

“It is an unfortunate incident; please keep the victim and his family in your prayers,” Mana said.

This was the 179th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
