The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, a 29-year-old Hillsborough County man, was taken into custody in Hamilton County. He was booked about 5:20 a.m. Monday into the Hamilton County jail on a charge of possession of a weapon or communication by a convicted Florida felon, according to online jail records.

“This type of case is not common in our area. We want the public to know that we believe this is an isolated incident and there are no other threats to the public related to this incident. We will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners as we investigate this case,” Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter said in a statement.

Since multiple agencies are involved, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was asked to assist in the investigation.
